HEPS Activities

HAI-Africa has been HEPS most important partner since 2001. Our partnership is aimed at the realisation of a strong health advocacy movement in Uganda

Action Aid International Uganda has signed a 3 year partnership with HEPS-Uganda in October 2005. Jointly we will work toward improved access to health for all Ugandans, especially the poor and vulnerable.
VSO Uganda (Voluntary Services Oversees) has signed a 3 year partnership with HEPS in August 2004. The partnership goal is to contribute to improved access to health services for disadvantaged people.

The Regional Network for   Equity  in Health in east and southern Africa (EQUINET) www.equinetafrica.org is a network of professionals, civil society members, policy makers, state officials and others within the region who have come together as an equity catalyst, to promote and realise shared values of equity and social justice in health. EQUINET involves HEPS in its activities, most recently on participatory methods for building a people centred health system.


The Training and Research Support Center (TARSC) www.tarsc.org is a non-profit organisation that provides training, research and support services to state and civil society organizations. TARSC is a learning and knowledge organization, with a particular focus on skills building and methods to support community-based work, and with a commitment to long-term capacity building in the public sector and in civil society. TARSC works with HEPS in areas of participatory research and training for a people centered health system.


9th EDF  Civil Society Capacity Building Programme signed a 16 month contract on 12th March 2007 for the implementation of the project entitled; community empowerment and participation on maternal health rights in Pallisa and  Budaka  districts.


Sponsors of HEPS Uganda
Accenture has awarded two small grants to help pilot Community Outreach training materials in Mbarara, and start up District Advocacy Research in Palisa.
Barclays has supported HEPS Uganda's resources centre with computer upgrade, binding machine and books.
IBM - The Netherlands has supplied HEPS Uganda with two modern laptops at reduced rates.
And many donations by members and individuals form Uganda and abroad. HEPS gratefully acknowledges their generous contribution.
