Health Complaints and Counselling Desk
Health Complaints & Counselling Desk
The Health Complaints and Counselling (C&C) Desk is an independent mechanism to address violations of health rights of health consumers. The programme is implemented through installation and use of suggestion boxes at participating health units, documentation of health complaints, counselling services, constructive dialogue and mediation between the aggrieved consumers and the accused health facility, and information sharing with stakeholders.
The objectives of the programme are:
Community Outreach Programme
The community outreach programme is one of the strategic programmes of HEPS Uganda that empowers health care consumers to demand for their health rights and exercise their health responsibilities. Health is not a preserve of health care providers, health is also an every day experience influenced by the choices individuals make.
HEPS-Uganda targets communities to empower health care consumers, especially the poor and vulnerable, with information that will enable them to know and demand for their health rights and exercise their health responsibilities including rational use of medicines.
Health Policy Advocacy
Through this programme, HEPS-Uganda conducts health policy analysis and research; initiates and actively participates in health policy formulation, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of health laws and policies; disseminates research findings on implementation of health laws and policies to stakeholders; and lobbies policy makers for improved health service delivery in Uganda.
